Supermarket vs Google!

December 20, 2023 | Comments Off on Supermarket vs Google!
  • Yesterday was a good one!

  • Cleaning a carpet in an East Perth apartment, young lady informs me that there are some “funny marks” on the carpet after her younger sister had tried to fix some drink spills on the wool carpet.

  • Looking at the marks, I could see colour loss and an orange-brown halo – warning lights started flashing!

When asked what she’d used – a supermarket detergent was the reply. Quite obviously one not suitable for wool or simply “Oxy-powered” as many of them are.

Upon informing them of the issue, I was then told, “Well I went online and found out the right way fix them with bicarb! I know I’m right because I saw lots of pictures and videos!!”

I’m sure she did, but only on synthetic carpets.

And then she got a cheap and nasty carpet cleaner in, even though Big Sister had told her to use me – but she didn’t want to pay my price!

A quick chemistry lesson later, and there was the sheepish question – “How much to fix it?”

    $800-$1000 was the price

Calling me in the first in the first place, probably $250 max!

  • Seemed like a good idea to DIY and save money… but has ended up a very costly exercise!

  • Fabulous service and advice. Franco did an amazing job removing red wine stain from wool and silk rug. Would highly recommend

  • We would like to thank both the girls in the office and Carl the technician who attended our property in east perth. we were not able to be there so to be able to trust this business in our home was really important to us. The communication is excellent and also the feedback about the property helped us manage the quality of work from other trades. I spoke to several other local companies before choosing fresh aire and I grilled them about their services and pricing and I am happy to say we chose well. Thank you to Carl for being on time, being flexible with our arrangements, for being honest which is sometimes hard to find and for the excellent pricing and quality of work.

  • Absolutely amazing service! We had the owner come around and help us with our carpet cleaning for our end of lease. I wouldnt recommend anyone else! The job was done quickly but to such a high standard that I definitely will get Fresh Aire to come and do my next place!

  • In fact they turned up early, almost unheard of in Australia.
    • Sorted 5 rooms in less than 90 minutes.
    • Their chap was friendly and efficient.
    • It wasn’t cheap, but then you tend to get what you pay for, and I’ve had it done cheaper, but the results were disappointing.
    • Will use them again in the future.

  • So rest assured, if you are getting using or recommending us to anyone else, it is always the best outcome that we are aiming for!

Do you get enough fibre?

December 6, 2023 | Comments Off on Do you get enough fibre?

• Fibre – I know I get enough fibre, but not the type a dietician would talk about

• Fibres are my stock and trade and understanding them is important.

• That’s why at Fresh Aire, we don’t do a one-size-fits-all style of clean – we look at each job individually and work from there.

• Once we know what fibres are both in and possibly under whatever medium we are dealing with, only then do we devise a cleaning plan to suit.

• So rest assured, if you are getting using or recommending us to anyone else, it bis always the best outcome that we are aiming for!

Leadership Team Meeting 17th April 2019

November 29, 2023 | Comments Off on Leadership Team Meeting 17th April 2019

Attended by David Lennon and Franco Preo

Ideas Raised, in no specific order

1.            Ask the speaker of the coming week, “Who do they want in the room next week”

2.            One group spoke about the number of Social functions they are having, and the benefit to the group

3.            Read out our vision at the start of the meeting.  Being the wording that we collectively built in a session with Alvin or Grant.

4.            On a big visitor day, ask the speaker

  • How beneficial has BNI been for them
  • How long have they been a member for with our group

So the visitor hears it first hand.

5.            Have a week, in which we invite someone who can’t be a member, for example, a person who works with a charity, school, local government department

6.            Ask members in the red how they plan to get out of the red and into the green / yellow

7.            Stop employees from joining the group, as a representative of the business

8.            Allow John to become an admin person of our own individual facegroup page, so that BNI promo material can be fed into the page content.

9.            Meet with a member 6 months prior to their renewal, this is the time when they are thinking about renewing.

10.

  • Passports even for old members
  • TRAINING Within 30days of joining
  • Friends and family day
  • GAINS list for all
  • Mentoring – must be monitored and adhered to
  • Consistently grey members need to be pulled up – expectations set by MC
  • Needs to be consistency – all people need to be on same level
  • Buddy systems for lower level people
  • 121 business cards – match up people randomly
  • Podcasts
  • Member orientation form, signed and understood!! Be hard up front
  • NBA never be average by Alvin

November 22, 2023 | Comments Off on Had A Relatively Short Week

Have had a relatively short week since last Wednesday

Went to Brisbane for further skills upgrade in stain removal

So not too many stories to tell

Just some nasty air travel stories and discussions of nastier staining found on carpets

Things we get to deal with:

  • Dyes
  • Inks
  • Curries
  • Alcohol stains
  • Make up
  • Grease
  • Boot polish
  • Massage oil
  • Bong water

And that’s just in hotel rooms!!

So looking for a lead into another hotel this week – head of housekeeping at

CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!

November 15, 2023 | Comments Off on CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!

I had an interesting challenge yesterday

Heavily soiled, multitude of stains

Budget to work within.

Had to work out a way I could get an acceptable result

CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!

Managed to get the job done, just within budget

Made the Property manager seem like a heroine in the eyes of the owner!

Also, big mention for Carl – have had 3 clients in the last week express their happiness of their experience with him

In particular one who got a 100% score from their Prop manager

Once again, looking for Property Managers

We go the distance, literally!

  • Client here in Perth with 8 rugs from Busselton property
  • Had an inspection to do in Bunbury
  • Offered to deliver them to the property for her, which she appreciated
  • Also had a leather sofa needing a clean, so did that while I was there as well
  • So, if you need someone who is willing to service their customers fully, look no further, we literally go the extra mile!

Water damage – with a difference!

November 1, 2023 | Comments Off on Water damage – with a difference!
  • This week we had a job a little out of the ordinary
  • It was a water damage situation, but not in a building
  • No, it was a convertible!
  • Appears the roof had a fault, which meant a heavy shower resulted in the driver’s side being awash with water
  • Caused a nice wave each time she braked!
  • So we were charged with extracting the water out and drying it as much as possible before any nasty smells started developing
  • Got any unusual jobs? We love to have a variety!

Water damage

October 25, 2023 | Comments Off on Water damage
  • This week had a job I was called in to treat an odour after someone had done a water damage remediation
  • Clean water, apartment building, nice wool loop pile
  • Just a slightly funky odour, I was instructed by the PM to treat the staining, apply antimicrobial and provide an assessment
  • First things first, I checked moisture content… and found the carpet still saturated in areas!
  • All that was wrong was excess moisture. Fortunately it had been fresh water and cold temps, meaning mould hadn’t become an issue
  • Just had to install drying equipment to dry the carpet out as fast as possible
  • Did that, treated the slight water mark and good to go
  • As usual, call in non-professional and these are the results you can get. Given slightly different circumstances, this could have been a carpet replacement AND serious health implications!
  • Make sure you call us if ever you have a similar type of situation!

Unusual dye

October 18, 2023 | Comments Off on Unusual dye
  • Had a job last night that needed a little lateral thinking
  • Stain on a wool carpet, damaged fibre.
  • Couldn’t remove any colour as the fibre was chemically burnt
  • But had to get around the problem somehow
  • SOLID DYES!
  • An oil based crayon, normally reserved for polypropylene fibre but needed to tone down the dark mark
  • Worked beautifully!
  • One happy customer, a win for me me!
