BLOG PAGE STYLE #2
- Lovely lockdown meant I couldn’t go on planned holiday last week
- Was supposed to be holidaying in southwest all week
- It was essential travel only
- But ironically, an issue popped up in Busselton to inspect last Friday!
- So G2G organised and away I went
- An unusual one with a carpet that kept on growing when it was hot!
- So did my inspection, wrote up my report and back on the road again
- Fresh Aire – no bloody virus is gonna stop us!!!
- We’ve had a run of vanilla cleans this week
- All straightforward stuff except for 1
- This one was the dreaded “doggy odour”
- But what’s this, NO URINE??
- Heavens above, it was actually free of doggy deposits!!
- Just a case of a smelly house, challenge accepted
- Took a bit of work as there was ample amounts of dog hair in there
- But some clever chemistry and elbow grease got the win
- Fresh Aire Carpet Cleaning, living up to it’s name!
- Another inspection of interest this week
- Brand new build in Trigg, complaint of colour variation
- Sure enough, when I get there you can see a massive difference from one side of the seam to the other
- To the laymans eye, it’s a colour issue
- To my eye, it was a laying issue known as “seam peaking
- Ä seam not perfectly flat will cast a shadow on the side away from the light source, but you can change the “dark side”by changing the angle of light
- So not a carpet fault, but a laying issue
- Win for the manufacturer, groan from the layer who now has to redo the seam!
- Need an issue reporting on? Franco is your man!!
- Been an interesting few days
- We were called in to quite a number of jobs after they’d already been “professionally” cleaned
- Stains still apparent, so we were called to fix
- On each occasion, it was a simple fix that should’ve come out at time of cleaning
- One of them created a secondary issue by using incorrect/inappropriate chemicals – permanent damage L
- But in all others, 100% removal was attained.
- Want it done right… you know who to call!
- Fresh Aire, fixer of bad cleans!
- Hope we all enjoyed our time off!
- Spent last week glued to a computer.
- Was meant to be on holiday down south this week!
- Not too much work happening, but hit ground running this week!
- Inc
-
- Stain removal
- Emergency blood removal
- Inspections – inc a G2G pass to Busselton!
- Vacate carpet cleans aplenty!
- Bleeder rug cleaning
- Normal carpet cleaning
- Got work, we’ll cover it, business as usual with Covid requirements of masking, sanitising on every job undertaken.
- Well yesterday turned into an interesting day
- I Started off in Meckering, checking out a carpet issue to report on
- Then to Carpet Court in Malaga to deal with some crushing in a piece of carpet
- Then dropping off a Persian rug we had been dealing with
- Last stop of the day to inspect and quote on a dog urine issue that had been allegedly sorted by another company
- Carl had what started as a clean, but when he got there the removalists had caused a flood!
- Then he had a full house with stain issues
- Last one of the day was re-dyeing bleached areas
- So as you can see, we can deal with all sorts of weird and wonderful stuff – let us help with your weird bits!
- Well yesterday was an interesting day!
- Three jobs, all rentals
- And all somewhat – challenging!
- First, a two-storey unit, trashed to the point where the carpet wasn’t visible in one room.
- Second, stains on a carpet that “had already been cleaned”. Shame the cleaner hadn’t used some simple detergent to get the spots out!
- Third – a job that made the first one look easy! But the end result was well worth the effort with a cream coloured back to being cream, instead of black, brown, green, red and orange!!
- Got a rental that is a bit of a challenge? Send it our way and let’s see what we can make of it!
- Well haven’t the heavens opened up this week?
- And with that, comes a proliferation of water damage events!
- If you do have water damage, it is imperative to get onto it straight away! We had an apartment with water damage to attend to on Monday – event occurred Sunday evening
- By the time we attended at 6pm Monday evening, the carpets had already sustained some damage in the form of watermarking – still correctable at that stage.
- Had it been left any longer, we would have had real issues!
- We have the gear to handle floods in apartments, commercial buildings or residential settings.
- If you have an issue or know of someone with that problem, DO NOT HESTITATE, thinking it will just dry out – it won’t!
- Give us a call to get it sorted as quickly as possible – even if it does mean a late night for us!
- Well, who’d a thunk? Here we are back in lockdown again!
- And even though we, as carpet cleaners, can actually have a profound effect on coronaviruses as a group, we are still not allowed to trade, so it’s off the road for now.
- But wait – news flash! We’ve had a letter from smallbusiness.wa.gov.au. stating that we are able to undertake no-contact vacate cleans, flood damage, cleaning for health issues or Covid-19 deep cleans.
- So, if you have any urgent work of that nature, we are still able to carry those out.
- Other than that, we will be having a quiet week, maybe catching up on some maintenance instead.
- Carrying on in the vein of winter – leather cleaning! Something that is not impacted by cold weather at all.
- When was the last time you had your own leather upholstery cleaned?
- Manufacturers recommend that leather should not just be cleaned, but conditioned as well every 6-12 months.
- This is so that the leather can have oils from skin removed, that believe it or not, will actually damage leather.
- So even though these oils come from your own skin, they will potentially impact leather upholstery.
- Personally, I think 6 months is over the top, but certainly 12-18 months is ideal.
- So, if you can’t remember the last time you cleaned your leather upholstery properly, give us a call and get it booked in now!
