• MATTRESSES!
• One of the most neglected items in any home when it comes to cleaning!
• And cleaning them professionally is he best way of knowing that they are clean, fresh and hygienic, particularly for people with ant respiratory issues

• I’m always going on about people who Google “recipes” to get rid of stains – and failing.
• But what about those people that buy name brand stuff at the supermarket, thinking it’s being sold there, so must be OK?
• Just because it’s available at a “trusted” retailer, doesn’t make it safe. In fact, most supermarket/Bunnings/Market stall stuff etc is pure, marketing rubbish.
• Mostly they create more problems than not, like one I had yesterday. Brand new, she dropped a coffee, and the dog dropped a… well I’ll let you guess!
• She used a name brand product – but all that happened was an utter mess. The stains were mostly dealt with, but the detergent residues were shocking!
• A quick stain removal and a damned heavy flushing later, and it was all sorted, much to her relief!
• Moral of the story: don’t buy products that can adversely affect your carpets – call a pro for advice or to deal with it!

• Something we have been doing lately is aged care
• Not in the same way Ian does in facilities, but in their own homes
• People staying in the comfort of their own home rather than a nursing home
• We get called in to clean up properties as a way to improve their wellbeing
• These are people often in ill health and quite vulnerable, so need that extra care and sometimes a kind word or two
• They can also be quite challenging and confronting, but absolutely worthwhile, especially with the positive reactions we get from them
• So if you know of people in that line of work or have elderly or infirm that need some work done with compassion, please refer them our way

With all of these people currently working from home, that also means that wear and tear will be happening on their carpets at a much faster rate than usual!

Those cups of coffee needed to fuel their workdays, meals at their workstations, the kids goofing off on the lounge suites or studying in their bedrooms, pets running amok inside their homes – all of this will lead to an inevitable accident or two!

So, if you yourselves find that the house is suddenly starting to look a little the worse for wear, or it comes up in your online conversations with friends and family, please think of us and make that call!

Fresh Aire Carpet Cleaning – definitely a breath of fresh air for your home!

We’ve had a colourful week this week, recolouring carpets after inappropriate chemicals having been used on some carpets!

This led to a colourful exchange between tenants and property managers

Tenants were left feeling a little grey and glum after suffering colour loss, but we managed to brighten their days with a splash – or at least a squirt – of just the right amount of colour, equivalent to a ray of sunshine on a cloudy, drizzly day.

Some people have very different standards it would seem

• You may have seen the photos of a job we did last week
• Carpets were to be done in the one room, but that was all they wanted done.
• Walking into the room, there was a bed and mattress too – a mattress badly in need of a clean!
• But it seems the mattress was not a priority – after all who sees it, right? And not really dirty enough for a clean anyway
• So, the option to clean was passed up on, even though it could have been done cost effectively as part of the job!
• And then to top it off, the bedframe was irreparably broken
• All I can say is the poor tenant that will be occupying that room!

We speak constantly about viscose

• Yes, here we go again!
• But this time I’m talking in terms of protection and an accidental experiment we did
• Had some sample of a particularly nasty samples of a fabric to spray and send away – but we kept one sample for ourselves
• Sprayed only half of it and then left t to cure
• I went to find it last night, only to realise it had dropped into the laundry sink – where my washing machine drains into!
• So it was an extreme way to test it!
• You can see the result for yourself… the protected side has come out unscathed… even the paper it is bound to has come off without a problem!
• So needless to say, this product works!
• If you know of anyone or are thinking yourselves of purchasing a high-end fabric or rug, please contact us for some good advice on how to treat it to make it more liveable!

Something we are seeing a lot these days; renovations!

• And with renovations comes a truckload of dust
• Try as you might, vacuuming, dusting, sneezing and still there appears to be more!
• If you want to ensure that you have got as much dust out of your carpets and upholstery as much as possible, there is only one real way to achieve it – professional cleaning!

We’ve had a couple come up this week that were Google tragics. One in particular, beautiful house, spotless – apart from an “unknown” spot on two steps of the staircase

• “No problem,” she Thinks, “I got this!” and it’s down to the supermarket to but some “stuff”.
• Oops, that was a fail… but wait, “I cleaned my rugs myself once, still got some Britex stuff, I’ll use that!”
• Oh dear, it got worse!
• Then she remembered to Kirby shampoo she got with her Kirby vacuum cleaner – that was good stuff, wasn’t it?
• Hmmm, maybe not so good L
• OK, GOOGLE IS MY SAVIOUR! It says bicarb and vinegar! So let’s try that…
• Damn, IT’S WORSE THAN EVER!!!
• “Let’s call Carpet Court in Canning Vale, where we bought the carpet, maybe they can help!”
• And help they did, by referring us instead! 1 hour’s work later and her carpets were once again pristine.
• Moral of the story – if at first you don’t succeed, call us, especially if you have any accidents this holiday season

Next year, we will be focussing on getting some more clients north of the river – if anyone has a PM they know, please put our name forward

We had just a “small” tile cleaning job last Saturday

• Two of us on the job, 5hours of hard slog
• What we had was a tile that cleaned reasonably easily, but grout that had been negatively impacted by 12 years of chemistry that wasn’t quite up to scratch.
• But when Carl quoted the job, he had the presence of mind to do some testing first
• That gave us had an idea on what we needed to use
• And I had to say the product did a sterling job, but it still wasn’t easy
• Very labour intensive, straight out hard yakka
• But we got a fantastic result that made the person that contracted us very happy, in spite of the premium we were charging.
• Moral of the story: we will always do what is needed to get the job done, first class results are what we always aim to achieve
