MOULD!

In case anyone hasn’t noticed, it’s been a little wet of late
And that has meant quite a bit of flooding and wet carpets!
And hand in hand with that has come mould
So what you say? A little mould never hurt anyone!
As a matter of fact, it has and does, regularly! It is a known trigger for people with respiratory issues!
Mould occurs when carpeting or even upholstery has been left for too long.
Given that it grows in areas of no light and no air movement, it thrives in the back of wet carpets, giving you that typical musty smell.
So musty that in fact we’ve had a few recently with so much mould, it was also on top of the carpet! I’ve even seen some with a mushroom farm thriving!
By this stage, it is far too late! If you can see mould, the carpet is generally destroyed and in need of replacement.
So, if you get wet carpets, please make sure you deal with them sooner rather than later before your fungal growth eats you out of house and home!
