Well yesterday turned into an interesting day I Started off in Meckering, checking out a carpet issue to report on Then to Carpet Court in Malaga to deal with some crushing in a piece of carpet Then dropping off a Persian rug we had been dealing with Last stop of the day to inspect and […]

Well yesterday was an interesting day! Three jobs, all rentals And all somewhat – challenging! First, a two-storey unit, trashed to the point where the carpet wasn’t visible in one room. Second, stains on a carpet that “had already been cleaned”. Shame the cleaner hadn’t used some simple detergent to get the spots out! Third […]

Well haven’t the heavens opened up this week? And with that, comes a proliferation of water damage events! If you do have water damage, it is imperative to get onto it straight away! We had an apartment with water damage to attend to on Monday – event occurred Sunday evening By the time we attended […]

Well, who’d a thunk? Here we are back in lockdown again! And even though we, as carpet cleaners, can actually have a profound effect on coronaviruses as a group, we are still not allowed to trade, so it’s off the road for now. But wait – news flash! We’ve had a letter from smallbusiness.wa.gov.au. stating […]

Carrying on in the vein of winter – leather cleaning! Something that is not impacted by cold weather at all. When was the last time you had your own leather upholstery cleaned? Manufacturers recommend that leather should not just be cleaned, but conditioned as well every 6-12 months. This is so that the leather can […]

Well, looking at the last week, it would seem as though winter has set in. So obviously carpet cleaning is out of the question, right? Of course not, it just means we need to think out of the box! There are ways to speed drying, whether it be choice of cleaning system, use of ventilation […]

Last week you may remember my tale of the viscose lounge suite. This week is a tale of the hidden viscose carpet. Customer that wanted 60% wool, 40% silk rug cleaned. Ok, can be problematic but we’ll deal with it. Get there and find out that what they thought was silk was in fact Art […]

We cleaned a viscose theatre setting yesterday. Whoopee I can hear you saying. Except that this a suite with a price in the tens of thousands and a fibre that is super fussy – loses 70% of its strength when wet, needs grooming after any cleaning or any tooling marks will be permanent. In fact, […]

Remember I spoke about the two disasters last week? So this week it’s fix it time! Redyed the wool rug yesterday, sadly it didn’t go that well. With the scrubbing and bicarb she’d used, there is now permanent damage. Looks far better, but it will never be 100% – but she was happy! Today I […]

2 jobs yesterday, both of which I couldn’t do on the spot First one a lovely rug, dog pee vs wool with the dreaded bicarb thrown on it. Ummm… no, not a stain, it’s damage. Price just went up from around $400 to $1000, just because of what she’d done to it herself! 2nd one, […]
